About O'Hair's Backwoods Crafts
So, you may ask, why does a guy who cuts leather and whittles walking sticks need a website? This is a fair question. For over thirty years I have handcrafted leather and have traveled and shown my work at craft shows and other appropriate places. With the advent of the World Wide Web, there is a tremendous opportunity to present my crafts to a much larger audience. I would like to introduce you to quality and value of good old "non technology" in this great technological age.
Willard Walton has sold sassafras for over 40 years and has whittled and crafted walking sticks for over 60 years. These fine Tennessee products have found their way into the gift shops at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and many other fine locations. These unique walking sticks have been bought or presented to many country music stars past and present, a president of the United States and many others. You will be in fine company carrying one of these beautiful sticks.
Willard and I met several years ago and have combined our talents to maintain the original quality line of Walton Sassafras Products as well as preserving the fine old American craft of whittling by creating traditional as well as new handcrafted products. We are an old fashioned company with old fashioned ethics and a combined experience of over 90 years in American master craftsmanship and folk art. We are committed to doing things the way they have been done for centuries and maintaining the kind of quality that one would expect to offer before he attached his name to a product. My name is Steve O'Hair and this is O'Hair's Backwoods Crafts. It is important to me to work with diligence and integrity and to maintain a good name for quality in today's marketplace.
